Diageo Korea announced on Monday that it will release a limited-edition ‘Johnny Walker Black Squid Game Edition’ next month, coinciding with the upcoming premiere of Squid Game season 2 on Netflix.
The special edition incorporates iconic elements from the hit series into the label design. The brand’s signature “Striding Man” trades in his classic suit for the recognizable green tracksuit worn by contestants in the show, offering a playful twist for fans. Adding to its appeal, the bottle’s slanted label features unique numbers from 001 to 456, inspired by the participant numbers in the series.
This edition also includes a distinctive feature for the Korean market: the “Squid Game” logo in Korean is printed on the neck of the bottle, making it exclusive to South Korea.
Despite the design change, the whisky inside remains the same as the original Johnny Walker Black Label, blended with Scotland’s finest whiskies aged for at least 12 years. According to Diageo Korea, it delivers a well-balanced profile with rich fruit aromas and sweet vanilla notes.
To celebrate the launch, Diageo Korea will open a pop-up store at GS25 Door to Seongsu in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, from November 19 to December 8.
